Total 273 Disaster Preparedness Cadets (Tagana) personnel of North Jakarta Social Sub-agency to improve preparedness for the current rainy season.

"We have taken several anticipatory and mitigation steps, such as coordination between units, preparing tools and logistics, recording and inventorying flood-prone areas, evacuation routes, and preparing public kitchen in every sub-district offices," he explained, Tuesday (11/2).
Jakarta BPBD Warned about Peak RainfallAccording to him, several Tagana personnel have been also provided with skills related to disasters, including providing public kitchen, shelter, psycho-social service and rescue.
"We have implemented 24-hour work shift system for personnel at Tagana Command Post and work shifts with related unit at mayoral level post to sub-district level to anticipate disaster that can occur at any time," he asserted.
Apart from personnel, his side also ensured to prepare supporting facilities and equipment thus it can be used at any time.
"We have one public kitchen car, one rescue car, one logistic car, public kitchen equipment, two rubber boat, and five evacuation tents with capacity 30 people," he added.
He hopes, as community-based disaster social organization, residents who have been trained and have expertise can guide others not to panic when disaster occurs and report officer immediately for quick response.
"Through this preparation, we are confident that we can move quickly and swiftly to handle disasters. In addition to handling fire victims, we are also ready to help flood victims or other disasters," he stated.
